Since burning stubble is the simplest way to clear the field, we have been practising it for a very long time. The lack of affordable machinery and its unavailability are the main causes of the burning of the land. When CII and SBI Card adopted our villages, we learned that equipment will be made available to us at a significantly lower cost, along with technical support and on-the-ground assistance. We went to the machinery or tool bank in our villages, where the volunteer helped us with the booking process and provided us with the machinery rates, which we found to be less expensive than those offered by CHCs and private vendors. The program volunteers also requested feedback and reviews on the machinery used by the farmers, enabling the volunteers to check the machinery before giving it to other farmers.
