Why Disaster Relief And Rehabilitation
Natural disasters such as cyclones and floods can strike anytime, without warning, leaving behind a trail of immense loss and damage. Indiaʼs diverse topography and the increasing impact of climate change make it especially vulnerable to natural disasters. Over the last decade, the country has witnessed several disasters such as the devastating Kerala floods in 2018, Assam floods in 2022, Cyclone Michaung in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh in 2023, and the landslides in Wayanad, Kerala, in 2024. Each of these disasters has impacted countless lives, pushing already underprivileged communities into deeper hardship, worsening the humanitarian crisis.
