J&K Relief Initiative 2014

 
With an objective to reach out to the victims of disaster hit state - Jammu & Kashmir, a Special Task Force was formed, which worked in coordination with the district administration. Relief camps cum Control Rooms were set up at Jammu and Srinagar. These camps played a key role in better and faster distribution of relief material to the victims in coordination with Army and local authorities.

CII under the aegis of CII foundation dispatched sustainable relief material worth Lakhs of rupees for J&K victims. As there were issues of connectivity and reaching out to Srinagar, CII tied up with the Western Command, Indian Army for air lifting the relief material including commodities of utmost requirement to Srinagar from Chandigarh. The relief material was dispatched in 8-10 consignments which comprised of water bottles, torches with batteries, water purifiers, baby food, powder packs, noodle packs, juice bottles, glucon-D, glucose biscuits, family tents, cartons of medicines, blankets, toiletries like soap cakes, sanitary napkins, boxes of aerated water and ready to eat food.
