Nepal Relief Initiative 2015

 
CII initiated its relief work for earthquake-hit victims in Nepal and parts of India in close coordination with the Government of India and its counterpart in Nepal, the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FNCCI).
CII set up a dedicated “Earthquake Relief” Cell in New Delhi and Kolkata to coordinate the dispatch of relief material and logistics. CII State Office in Bihar and Kolkata worked with District Administration of the affected areas to provide immediate relief.

CII in partnership with FNCCI assessed the immediate requirements for those affected by disaster. Post the assessment, CII in close coordination with Ministry of Home Affairs and Nepal Embassy sent large quantities of tents, tarpaulin and blankets; immediate consumables such as biscuits, noodles, glucose, milk powder, sanitary napkins by road from Kolkata. Some relief material was also airlifted from Delhi.

On behalf of CII, Apollo Hospitals Group deputed a team of doctors, comprising of orthopaedic and neuro-surgeons to perform emergency surgeries. Medical relief in the form of surgical implants, surgical consumables as well as medicines and food supplies were supplied in abundance
